   My five years in journalism began at the University of Missouri and continued through newspaper internships and a semester reporting in Washington, D.C.

   After college I worked for the Associated Press in New Mexico and  at the Spokane (Wash.) Spokesman-Review. I now freelance full-time for consumer and trade publications  in Houston.
